I have an immense fondness for old books and magazines. To me, they are vibrant parts of history and they teach more about past than any history book. I dug up this old 1947 issue of Liliput Magazine in a second-hand store and came across this interesting article. Now Liliput Magazine was a monthly British men’s mag. It was mostly humorous, culture-oriented and definitely filled with pin-up girls.
Money was already a hot matter at that time and I found quite interesting that little has changed. To earn £ 1, a nurse has to work for more than 17 hours while a footballer does it in only 9 minutes. A doctor makes £ 1 in a little less than 5 hours while a movie magnate hits the jackpot with a buck in 11 seconds!
